WaterGreens, St.Lucia's First Commercial Aquaponics Farm

WaterGreens is a Family Owned Business located in Castries St.Lucia. The Farm produces organic vegetables, fish and shrimp using aquaponic technologies. No pesticides or chemicals are used on plants or aquatic animals.

What is Aquaponics?

Aquaponics is a food production system that combines conventional aquaculture with hydroponics in a symbiotic environment.

Veggies

WaterGreens aquaponics produces a unique range of lettuce for the St. Lucia market. These include buttercrunch, Panisse, Bibbs, Red lettuce, Salad bowl to mention a few.

We also produce sweet basil, swiss chards, tomatoes and seasoning peppers. We are constantly expanding and will add a greater variety shortly.

Fish

We are currently raring red and nile tilapia in a semi-intense aquaponics system. Our tilapia are grown to a pound plus size.

Our Tilapia are grown in a safe chemical free environment. They are fed with natural organic matter and feed produced in St. Lucia.

Shrimp

We are having great sucess with shrimp, but at present, we are only suppling our immediate community from our aquaponics system.
